Activities of the new application centre for nanotechnology are being started by an EU-funded project. The centre is located in the campus area of Kokkola and organized by Technology Centre Ketek ltd. The main idea of the centre is to speed up the commercialization of the research results of universities and research institutes.

The activities of NAPCE will produce new industrial applications in the field of nanotechnology for example by setting up pilot projects. The interdisciplinary network of nanotechnology experts nationally and also internationally is the key resource of NAPCE. The principal target group is the local industry, Kokkola is an internationally significant concentration of chemical and boat industries.

The interdisciplinary network between nanotechnology
experts nationally and also internationally is the key resource and operational basis of NAPCE. Since Kokkola is an internationally significant concentration of chemical, marine and mechanical engineering
industries, initially the primary target groups are the regional industrial operators. New operators and geographic areas will be ensued.
